In 2002, film school students Scott Pettis, Chad Newman and Jason Klamm improvised several episodes of a fake chart show called “The Dickie Allenstar Show,” with Scott as the eponymous Dickie, Chad as volatile and unpredictable producer Jerry, and Jason as that week’s guest (whomever Scott decided it was that week). These were the beginnings of the group’s work together, which would culminate in the feature-length mockumentary Looking Forward (2012). They self-released one album in 2004, “Do You Enjoy Chicken at Meal Time?” which has recently been re-released by Celery Sound Records, with bonus tracks added since the 2004 release.
