Episode 350 – Dan Gomiller on The Firesign Theatre – Everything You Know is Wrong

My best friend, comedy partner and other podcast(s) co-host Dan Gomiller joins me this week to talk about the one comedy album we didn’t grow up sharing.  As it turns out, we learn A LOT about the album and I get a glimpse into another side of Dan’s comedy upbringing I didn’t know about.

Baby Episode 10 – The Actual Smallest Comedy Record in the World

I’m under the weather this week, but wanted to tell you about some exciting news.  My comedy partner Dan Gomiller and I, along with People in a Position to Know and Mobile Vinyl Recorders, created the smallest comedy record of all time.  And no, I don’t mean the MicroSD album we released 2 years ago – I mean a 1.5″, playable record, 10 seconds per side, with one of the dumbest jokes I’ve ever written.  Video below of our submission to Guinness.

Episode 121 – Thanksgiving Crossover Special

DJCH COV 750

This week, the Comedy on Vinyl podcast and the Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour podcast cross paths.  Right in the middle of wrapping up their latest sketch comedy album Ho, Christmas Tree!, an increasingly drunk Jay (Jason to you vinyl folks) and Dan discuss the creation of this, the SMALLEST COMEDY ALBUM IN HISTORY.  At 1.7cm square, the album comes packaged on a MicroSD card packed with the album and audio and video extras.

It’s also a FREE download, available at ho.stolendress.com, with CDs available shortly thereafter.   It’s a sketch album, naturally, featuring the talents of James Urbaniak, Philip Proctor of The Firesign Theatre, Jeremy Guskin, Allen Rueckert and a number of other wonderful talents.

Episode 100 – Matt Lieberman Interviews Jason about his 1999 album Shoestrings – with Guests James Urbaniak and Alex Salem

Episode 100Matt Lieberman (Sourcefed, Afterbuzz, friend of the show) made the kind offer to interview me for our hundredth episode.  I assumed that meant “talk about my collection,” when what Matt had in mind was much more sinister – he wanted me to talk about my own comedy album from 1999.  Talk about myself though I might like to… do… I was reticent, but it was a fun trip down memory lane, and it’s nice to remember your first major, completed project and see that it had a place, somewhere, among other things.  James Urbaniak and my Drinking Game buddy Alex Salem were there for emotional support and unexpected, but welcome, analysis of my (with Dan Gomiller) ridiculous album.

A quick thank you also to the people who have made these 100 episodes possible, besides our awesome guests: Mike Worden, Jen Smith, Dan Gomiller, Dan Schlissel, Josh Mills, James Urbaniak, Jeremy Guskin, Mike Preister and many more folks have given of their time and resources to help make this show something I’m quite proud of.  Thanks for listening, boeau’.
